Manicure and pedicure is an unavoidable treatment to take care of our appearance.
Like the face, the hands are the first thing we pay attention to, both in ourselves and in others.
Nurtured hands mean nurtured and tidy nails and are very important for the overall picture we leave.
Hands and feet never rest, so it is very important to take care of them, especially in winter.
Manicures and pedicures should not be a luxury, but a part of personal hygiene. In addition, they gave us a younger look and help in general health.

Difference Between Manicure and Pedicure
The difference between a manicure and a pedicure is not big. Both treatments are similar and the only difference is that they are applied to different parts of the body.
We have all heard of the term manicure and pedicure because these are beauty treatments in which a large number of women enjoy.
And not only do they make us more beautiful and attractive, going to a beauty salon relaxes us and reduces stress.
Both words are of Latin origin and mean the healing of hands and feet.
A manicure is a hand treatment and a pedicure is a foot treatment and they both use almost the same tools.
Manicure and Pedicure Set
Beautiful hands and feet are an important part of our appearance.
In addition to beauty salons, we can also take care of them at home. In order to be successful in that, we must have the necessary tools.
This is a list of tools that every woman who takes care of herself must have:
1. Pumice stone and foot files
Accumulation of dry skin on the feet most often occurs due to a lack of moisture in the skin.
Natural shrinkage of dry skin on the feet is a normal occurrence. To maintain beautiful and smooth feet dry skin and thickening needs to be removed.
Pumice stone is most often used to remove dry skin, but for the rough foot, you will need rasp foot files.
Soak your feet for 10 minutes in warm water, then gently remove the dead skin with a pumice stone. Then apply the lotion.
2. Cuticle Remover
You can skip this step even though it is done by professionals in beauty salons. If you decide to do it, do it before using the cuticle pusher.
3. Cuticle Pushers
If you want your nails to look more beautiful, you don’t necessarily need to cut the cuticle.
You can gently push it with cuticle pushers. For soft cuticles it is better to use the wooden pusher.
Use a pusher to push gently the softened cuticles so that the nail plate remains completely clean and the lower edges are defined.
The pusher must be sharp and only yours. Nail accessories are not shared with anyone because of the risk of infection.
4. Cuticle Nippers
For difficult cuticles and ingrown nails, use cuticles nippers. This tool lasts long and helps us to have an excellent and tidy nail finishing.
With cuticle nippers, cut only the part of the skin that is torn and which is an obvious excess.
5. Cuticle Oils and Creams
Cuticle nipper and pusher can cause dry skin and ends.
To protect the skin, it is better to use oils or creams that moisturize and protect the skin from additional damage.
Just apply a layer or a drop to the cuticle and distribute it around the nail.
You can use them daily if your problem is severe or once a week to improve their health and appearance.
Woodstick is an unavoidable part of your set that has multiple purposes. With it, we can push the cuticle, remove dry skin, or clean the dirt under the nails.
7. Nail Clippers
Everyone has one at home. A nail clipper is a necessary tool.
Regular cutting is important to keep our nails healthy and beautiful.
8. Shaping Tools
Shaping tools are an irreplaceable accessory for shaping and shortening nails. Absolutely every woman owns at least one in her cosmetic kit.
With so many shapes, types, materials, and degrees of granulation, it is sometimes very difficult to choose the perfect nail file.
- Metal files are usually not too rough. Their advantage is that they last a long time and are easy to clean. Their disadvantage is that with frequent use they weaken the nails and cause peeling and cracking of the nails. Therefore, we do not recommend them
- Emery boards are used the most, both in salons and at home. You can often find them in the form of double-sided files with two different types of granulation. Their advantage is that they are cheap and their disadvantage is that they cannot be cleaned or sterilized
- Glass files are much more expensive and are usually used in beauty salons. This is the best type of nail file because it smoothes the edge of the nail and prevents the nails from peeling and cracking. They are easy to clean and sterilize. The only drawback is that they can break easily.
- The buffer file block usually has 4 different sides with different degrees of granulation for all types of nail work. The advantage is that you can do everything with one file. The disadvantage of buffer files is that they do not last long and are bulky and therefore inconvenient to use
Buffer is gentle enough to polish, and yet rough enough to smooth nail ends.
It is a good choice because it damages the nail the least but gives us natural and long-term glow.
These are usually made of light, spongy materials and must be changed regularly.
Buff your nail using unidirectional strokes in an X form.
10. Nail Polish Removers
Never use products that have high levels of chemicals. Choose a nail polish remover which contains ethyl acetate.
11. Nail Toe Separators
For maximum precision and flawless nail polish and to avoid messy work, it is desirable to use nail toe separators.
Manicure and Pedicure in Home
The hands are always exposed to the eyes and that is why they must be beautiful and nurtured at all times.
A lot of women have a lot of obligations that prevent them from having a good rest and spending time with their loved ones, let alone going for a manicure or pedicure in the salon.
You don’t have to spend hours and hours in beauty salons.
You can do pedicures and manicures on your own in your home with a little effort and some of our tips.
Take some time for yourself, relax, and enjoy yourself.
How to do Manicure at Home?
We will first prepare everything we may need!
1. Cut and form your nails
First of all, remove the old nail polish, if you had it. After that, you need to cut your nails to the desired length with nail clippers or scissors.
2. Nail filing
When you have roughly shaped the nails to your liking, then you need to file them.
As a rule, nail filing is done only in one direction. Never use the file by pulling it back and forth. This way you damage your nails.
3. Applying cuticle oil
After filing, apply cuticle oil to the nail plate and cuticle. This way you will get rid of unwanted small cuticles, which you can’t even cut off.
4. Soak your hands
Put lukewarm water in a bowl. Dip your nails into it and hold for about 2 minutes. This will soften the skin and cuticles.
You can even add moisturizing soap to the water, but it is not necessary.
5. Clip the cuticles
After soaking your nails, dry them lightly with a towel.
Take a wooden stick and with it gently “push” the cuticles towards the skin of the fingers. If necessary, use a cuticle nibbler to remove them. Remove dirt under the nails.
6. Nail polishing
Give your nails a final shine with a soft file designed to polish your nails.
7. Applying hand and nail cream
After polishing, apply moisturizer to your hands and nails. In this step, it is good to do a gentle hand massage.
Use a cream that will suit your skin and make your nails firmer.
To have a treatment like in a real salon, you can wrap your hands in a warm towel immediately after applying the cream.
Keep your hands in the towel for a few minutes. Then coat each nail with acetone, before applying nail polish.
8. Applying nail polish
In the end, it remains to palish the nails.
First, you need to apply the base coat, then two coats of the desired nail polish, and finally apply a top coat that dries quickly and protects the polish.
Be patient and wait for each layer to dry well, to apply the next.
And of course, choose quality nail polishes that protect your nails, are easy to apply, and whose durability has been proven to be good.

How to Do Pedicure at Home
Regular care prevents the appearance of ingrown nails and removes thickening and dead skin.
These home treatments are especially important if you have flat feet or often wear heels because then the pressure on certain parts of the foot is much higher.
Treat yourself with a pedicure twice a month by following the steps below and enjoy soft skin, neat nails, and healthy feet.
1. Remove the nail polish
Start foot care by removing dirt.
First, remove the existing nail polish. The best way to do this is with oil acetone as it is healthier for nails.
Then wash your feet and remove any dirt.
2. Make a foot bath
Fill the tub or bucket with warm water and add products that will soften your skin on your feet.
It can be a gentle bath, sea salt, fragrant salts, or essential oils.
When you have prepared all this, soak your feets and keep them in the basin for at least 15 minutes.
3. Remove the thickened skin
When your feet are soft enough, take a pumice stone or file to remove the thickened skin.
Then rub the heels and possibly other parts of the feet on which the thickened skin has appeared.
Avoid doing this with a razor or similar, as this will do more harm than good. A stone or file is quite sufficient.
4. Trim your nails
First, remove the cuticles. This will not be a problem for you because the skin will soften from water, so the whole process will be much easier.
After that, cut the nails, file them and clean them of any dirt.
5. Final peeling and massage
After doing all the above, put new water in the tub, wash your feet well, and it would be very good to do a foot peeling.
When you have done all that, dry your feet with a soft towel, and then apply a nourishing foot cream and let it absorb.
6. Nail polish
Once the cream absorbs, you can stick to nail polish.
To get the most out of it use nail toe separators. This will make your job easier.
First, apply colorless protective nail polish, and then the color you want.
This way you will avoid yellow nails when you remove the nail polish.
